Swapin can be a Great way to Shake up your Exercise

For all of you who love to exercise to a DVD in the privacy of your own home. I have a great way to get FREE exercise or any type of DVDs. A website called DVD SWAP. How it works is you become a member for free and post 10 Dvds you are willing to list for people to choose. If someone picks your Dvd you pay the couple of dollars it cost to mail the dvd to them. When you list your 10 Dvds you get points to use to choose from the Dvds other people have listed. If you find a Dvd you want that person pays to ship it to you. You also get a point for each DVD mailed to a person. It is a great way to get a DVD you have been looking for basicly FREE. They also have sites for books and Cds. I have had a lot of great luck finding Dvds. Free is always the right price for me

Please hold the Pesticides

I have been trying to eliminate a lot of toxins in my life. I am hoping that by doing that I will increase my fertility and improve my health. I would love to eat nothing but organic food. Unfortunately it can cost quite a bit of money to eat only organic. I have been wanting to sign up with a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture). Basicly it is a subscription program where you pay to receive a portion of the crops that farm grows for that week. I am hoping to save up some money to sign ip for it next year. It is a wonderful way to get organic fruits and vegetables and help a local farm. You can find local farms or famers markets in your area at a really cool website called Local Harvest
I had read about how fertility is affected by toxins like pesticides. They found in farming communities that use certain pesticides the risk are higher for miscarriage, there is an increased chance of autoimmune responses where the body attacks the sperm or egg, and lower sperm count. You can find more info on this at Fertility Factor. I am going to do my best to decrease my intake of pesticides by buying produce that is lower in the amount of pesticides it absorbs. Got up and went to the gym. Now I need to shower and get my rear back at the table working on my coupons. Gotta get organized to get great deals I won't have time to do it the rest of the week since I am working on Tuesday and Thursday babysitting the little ones I used to nanny for- they are on spring break- and then Wed is a full day of celebrating St Pats day with my Finatical friends.

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite size pieces
1 onion, chopped
1T minced garlic
1/2 pound baby carrots
1 1/2 zuchinni
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric
3 tablespoons tomato paste
1/2 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
In a dutch oven put onions, garlic, baby carrots, zuchinni, and cut up chicken. In a cup mix up tomato paste into water add tumeric. Dump into pot w/ chicken and stir. Add salt and pepper. Cook on a med-low heat for about an hour -stir occasionally.
I made rice for my husband to have with it.

Melt in your mouth calcium

I did not enjoy the chewy calcium supplements that were available. But Now I am in heaven with my new calcium supplement Adora. I love love love milk chocolate. I am not a big fan of dark chocolate. So when I found these little chocolate disk I was thrilled. I feel like I get a taste of chocolate while getting in much needed calcium. My diet now-a-days is a non-dairy diet. I want to make sure I am getting in some form of calcium and this is a great way to do it. They do offer it in dark chocolate for those of you who prefer that. What I also like is I have a reason to limit myself to only one since it is a supplement. I tend to lose control when it comes to chocolate. So it helps when the chocolate I am eating limits me to just one.
Healthy Chicken Salad
I have decided to modify a chicken salad recipe I found to fit with my eating plan. I haven't made this yet but will come back to report how it turned out.
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
1/2c dries cranberries
1c diced celery
1 diced onion
3/4c seedless grapes
1/2c walnuts
1- tart green apple diced
1tsp Lime juice
2-ripe avocados(dice up 1, use other 1 for dressing)
salt and pepper to taste

Drinkin My Spinach

I know I cringed at the thought of drinking anything that included spinach in it. Please have an open mind and you will be pleasantly surprised. They call this drink the Green Monster smoothie. Rumor has it that the Green Monster will help with give you energy, make your skin glow, and all around make you feel healthier. I am just happy to use it to help get more fruits, veggies, and some good fats in really quick and easy. There are many versions as you will see on the Green Monster Movement . Just go to Google and type in "Green Monster" you will see the many versions out there. Find one that fits you and try it. Let me know what you find that works for you.
Here is my favorite blend:
1t Almond Butter
1 Frozen Ripe Banana
8-10 strawberries
1 c Almond Milk
1 scoop Hemp powder
2 large handfuls raw baby spinach
Place all in blender and blend until smooth. Pour in a glass and enjoy.

I had noticed that I was using a ton of plastic water bottles. Week after week I was dropping off a ton of water bottles at the recycling center. For Christmas I decided that I would ask for some healthier water bottles as a gift. I had read how the plastic leaches into the water. Rumor has it these plastic chemicals are interrupters that can cause a lot of heath issues including fertility issues. I decide that I would be willing to try anything that will make me healthier and possbily give me a better chance of getting pregnant. I did a lot of research. A lot of metals leach into the water too. The safest one I found was Klean Kanteen . I got three of these with the sports cap and I love it!!! I save money and I am doing a great thing for the planet and my health.

I am planning ahead so I can get a better schedule going. I gotta wake up at 8 and get to the gym by 9 so I can do 1 hour cardio and 30 min weights. Then run errands.
I DID IT!! I followed the plan. I am home to shower and then heading out the door to enjoy this gorgeous day walking atound the farmers market. Hoping to find some mangos and canteloupe. I am craving them.

Makin a new plan
I was very disappointed with this weeks weigh-in. I felt that I had made several sacrifices like- got chicken and salad at a restaurant known for their burgers, I passed on birthday cake, after my stair climb I only ate a banana when I could have eaten pizza, sandwiches, and other snacks they were handing out. So when I stepped onto the scale Tuesday Morning I was very disappointed to see I had only lost .2 lbs. Ok so I feel like I need to make a better schedule for myself since I don't feel I have gotten into a good routine. So I have decided that I need to set a schedul for myself. I want to wake up at 8am get ready for the gym and eat something. Get to the gym by 9am and do at least 1 hr cardio and 30 min weight training. I also plan to eat more. I think that maybe I just didn't get in enough food- maybe that is why I did't see a better loss on the scale.

WI: 184.8 -.2 WTF I did GREAT this week and the scale is not showing it!!
I got up at 8 got ready and was heading out the door to the gym when my cell phone rang- it was DH cell number- I answered and found out that DH was in the emergency room. He does HVAC and while building a piece of duct work he cut open his arm. I headed to the hospital which was 30 min away. He is fine. He had to get stitches.

OK so it took me 32.20 min to do it but I DID IT!! I had been sick all week with a head cold. I had decided all I wanted to do was to finish. I took my time and let myself take a break when I needed to. Above is a picture of my Team. I am on the left. What have I been eating??
One day while looking at our cookware I noticed that a lot of the non-stick coating had chipped off. It freaked me out thinking OMG we have ingested that!! So I immediately threw it away and decided to change to cooking with castiron cookware. I had been lucky that for my birthday I had received a beautiful new Le Creuset dutch oven. I had always wanted one but couldn't afford one. I love it!! I have found that you can actually get them for a deal if you watch deal websites. And it is worth it for better health. I have found deals on a couple sauce pans. I am also using good ole cast iron skillets. These are other changes I have made:
- Paraben free products like shampoo, soap, lotion, body wash etc.
- Sulfate free beauty products like shampoo, soap, body wash, etc.
- Natural cleaning products- I have started to change to a locally made product Better Life (can also be found at Costco, deirbergs and Whole Foods)
- Bought a floor steamer for chemical free cleaning
I am slowly changing things to make a healthier enviroment for ourselves and our future family. It can be affordable if you look for deals. I always thought I wouldn't be able to do it but if I make small changes here and there it really has been pretty easy. Couponing also helps it become more affordable.
What changes have or would you like to make?
- Paraben free products like shampoo, soap, lotion, body wash etc.
- Sulfate free beauty products like shampoo, soap, body wash, etc.
- Natural cleaning products- I have started to change to a locally made product Better Life (can also be found at Costco, deirbergs and Whole Foods)
- Bought a floor steamer for chemical free cleaning
I am slowly changing things to make a healthier enviroment for ourselves and our future family. It can be affordable if you look for deals. Gotta Laugh
Reading Waiting for Grace you hear about the silly superstitious things she did to try and get pregnant. It helps to know that I am not the only one who is willing to do anything to become a mother. You feel as if you are losing your mind so you are willing to grasp onto anything that makes you feel like you have control over something. My poor sweet husband has humored me many times. I even had him outside planting a potato under the full moon- LOL
